Hello, my daughter is obsessed with Hello Kitty / Sanrio characters etc. and has been asking for a Hello Kitty guitar. The squier model prices have really gone crazy but I've noticed these Fishbone copies. Anyone try one and can comment on the guitar (or FIshbone guitars in general)? Thanks!
Agufish got a 7-string from a Chinese manufacturer. I'm not sure which one, but he wasn't a fan of it. He put a lot of money into it.

Thanks - it looks like the Squier versions are just augmented Affinity models. The fishbone sure looks the part (even right headstock shape) but want to be sure it's playable (or can be made playable). Hey if it gets her more interested in guitar it might be worth trying. I have to wonder if the Squier version will continue to go up in value - maybe worth getting and unloaded for a profit in the future. (?)

Maybe start with a decent but inexpensive guitar in a cutsie color. Or paint it cutsie and get a big hello kitty sticker or other characters? If they shot up in price to the point its considered an investment then not great to hand off to a kid. If someone makes that pickguard then everything can be HK.
