Mickey , she has fallen off the radar pretty much. I seem to remember her hitting Nashville at like 13 with a voice a grown ass woman would kill for. Then in her early 20's or something she had issues dropped out of sight and is working her way back now. Seems to be happily married too.

Well, sheβs no Patsy Cline But Lea Anne has incredible range and really knows how to phrase lyrics. Thanks for the reminder.

A lot better than the not so righteous not brothers ever were.

Didn't mean to derail but that song just conjured up Bobby Hatfield and I couldn't restrain my enthusiasm.

The best thing about the Righteous Brothers recording was Phil Spector's knowledge of recording technology.
She has much better pipes than Righteous Brothers did together!
Go see her perform live some time if you have the opportunity and you'll understand where I'm coming from.

I think the whole home wrecker thing sort of ruined her good girl image.

Actually in her teens, early teens when the whole "homewrecker" thing hit.
But that doesn't do anything to detract from her ability as a singer.

This made me think who is my generations Patsy. Closest i can think of is Linda Ronstadt, not that Emmylou's voice is bad just in my book Linda
is the closest my group has to Patsy

will freely admit that I don't really know much about Country music, or likely as much as I should - but I have heard Leanne Rimes sing and she's very good indeed. Speaking of female country music singers though, one of my favorite late night youtube covers is Gretchen Wilson singing a cover of Heart's Barracuda along with Alice in Chains. Certainly an odd ( and somewhat cheezy in a guilty pleasure kind of way ) mix but she would have been a good rock singer too. This was from 2007

she is a year older than me...the affair that sort of torpedoed her career happened around '08 or '09, so she was in her mid 20's.

Her singing used to make my grandma cry, specifically Blue.
