Just tried to PM a "new" member (we're all newbies now) and got the following message"

"We are sorry, but you are not authorized to use this feature. You may have just registered here and may need to participate more in discussions to be able to use this feature."

Tried to find the suggestions thread to see if it had been discussed but it is gone as well.

Does anyone know how long it takes to unlock this functionality?

i think by default there was a post limit you had to hit in order to receive pm functionality? don't know if that's still the case

Yes, you need 3 posts in the before PM is enabled.
