Didn't I just wish for a year of "somewhat normalcy" on @sabasgr68 's post?
Man, this stuff is the pits. The wife has it, too. One of the big issues is that we have a six month-old puppy who needs plenty exercise. I can muster up the strength to go down the street and back but that's about it. Hopefully the aches and chills dissipate within a day or two.
** EDIT **
Man oh man, thanks for all of the well-wishes and suggestions. I have been hunkering down and feel 94% better. CDC guidelines say that I can rejoin society tonight at midnight if I wear a mask. I thought that I was feeling well enough to take the pup on a vigorous snowshoe today (far away from fellow humans) but turned around because I wasn't well-enough prepared, I was alone and my cough briefly reappeared. The trifecta mandated a U-turn.
It was pretty, though. See you guys in person at 12:01.
I have COVID. **EDIT** Turned the corner, I think

Hope you recover soon, it’s been through our family on the second round the past few weeks. I was in Norway the first week of December and a bunch of my coworkers tested pos while I was there so everybody blames me. I had a slight fever and aches/chills for a couple days and now just gunk in my head and a cough.
Keep going with the little guy, staying active seems to help.

Oh, man. What´s the new "normalcy" nowadays?tlarson58 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 02, 2023 5:04 pm Didn't I just wish for a year of "somewhat normalcy" on @sabasgr68 's post?

I do wish you both to recover soon, hoping the worst part is over within a day or two, like you say. You´re an active guy, that energy should help you with the recovering.
Prayers for you and the wife, Tommy - and the rest of the family to not catch it! -,

Get better, eh? The Covid does suck, but hopefully you have a lesser variant.
That stuff laid me out for a week, and I wish it on no one.

Get well soon Tommy. Lots of zinc, C, D and chicken soup. That is what got me through Covid quickly. I hope you and the wife recover quickly.

You all get well.
Friend has a tradition of daytime New Year's Day party, good food, etc.
He was a bit sick, postponed to this coming weekend, then he tested positive for COVID.
Still has the party on, which is not like him, a pretty measured guy.
I am not going. We can visit separately later.

The other farm cats didn’t super love him but the chickens thought he was alright so he became a chicken.

You know there must be something to that "vitamin D" sunshine thing. Back in NJ, I used to get a couple of nasty colds every year, a winter hacker and a summer head stuffer. Since moving to Southeast Asia, I have not had a cold or any respiratory illness in 8 years...boggles the mind. Now of course all that extra sunshine and humidity can bring on other problems like prickly heat and other skin rashes so you really have to be up on your protective measures and lots of showers (minimum 2 per day)...but really nice not to get colds and I'm hoping Covid also !

Bless you! Flush it's remnants out with excercise, as soon as you feel you can.

Back in my international crowd in Geneva, when a friend's girlfriend was working with U.N., I spoke with the young Singapore attache, and he said he got a series of inoculations prior to his assignment in Europe, to deal with the "regional" strains of whatever bugs there are, obviously different that his natives'.Tonray's Ghost wrote: ↑Tue Jan 03, 2023 6:36 pm You know there must be something to that "vitamin D" sunshine thing. This may have been some remnant of past practice?
Humidity/warmth may be a factor as well, like with psoriasis?

Yeah at least with common cold viruses there's a limited range of humidity where they can survive longest outside of a host (like on doorknobs etc). Too dry and they don't do well and also too humid they peter out too. I guess with AC running most days everywhere and cycling on and off to maintain a certain temp we are making it harder for them to spread. Our biggest issue is cleaning and maintenance to prevent molds and fungus which love still, humid air.PoodlesAgain wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 10:29 amBack in my international crowd in Geneva, when a friend's girlfriend was working with U.N., I spoke with the young Singapore attache, and he said he got a series of inoculations prior to his assignment in Europe, to deal with the "regional" strains of whatever bugs there are, obviously different that his natives'.Tonray's Ghost wrote: ↑Tue Jan 03, 2023 6:36 pm You know there must be something to that "vitamin D" sunshine thing.
