Nbd. 70s jazz copy austin

New bass day.
I've loved the looks of the 70s block inlay maple neck ash jazz bass for years. I was hoping to find one w a jazz body but p-j pickups but it doesn't seem to exist. I thought sx had one but now i cant fund one. This autin was 200. Got this used off GC.

I was worried I didn't like a 2 jazz pickup model as I really didn't like my fretless Jaco model squier years ago but this Austin really sounds great. It even can do a decent p bass impression if you turn down the vol and tone and squint a bit.
The only real downside its a heavy mother. I'll have to see how that goes Or am I too spoiled with my paulwina bass. I'll be testing with a trusty well-hung strap. I'm afraid to weigh it. It might make it seem heavier. It would have been nice to get an sx and keep it in the family but I've played other Austin's I've liked and this had a great price and look.

This has been my main ride the last 2 years. It's a glarry I'm sure. It looks good sounds great and crazy light. Not punishing at all. It does need a fret level so I keep the acton a little high and even then lots of fret outs above 15th or so. It's unbranded because I didn't want to pay the big G premium.

Had a 1st rehersal with the J and it sits real cozy in the mix. I lean towards the p pickup on my other bass. The band likes the clarity. It's heavy but the strap helps alot. I'm curious to get it's weight.
