I received my Christmas present today: a 1x15" custom speaker cabinet custom built by Mojotone!

1960's specs: Finger jointed pine sides, convertible pine back (can be open, semi-open or closed), Baltic Birch plywood speaker board, aged grill cloth, black Tolex which matches my Fender Vibroverb, chrome corners, Fender style handle and glide feet. Pretty much like a mid-60s Fender, with a twist.

Currently loaded with a 1963 JBL D130F 15" and fully closed back panel. That speaker never sounded better! With the Vibroverb, it is one of the biggest Fender tones I have heard.

That thing should capture the SRV tone spot on. Stevie used Vibroverbs if I am not mistaken.

Yes and yes!

Stevie had two and I think his were both made in July of 1964. My amp is one of the earlier ones, being the 3rd made in January 1964. Given there was a prototype for the NAMM show in the summer of 1963 and production kicked in October 1963, I'd say mine is one of the first 10 made. To which, there were estimated to be between 80 and 120 in total ever made, making this pretty rare.

This amp was gifted to me by the original owner in 1991. He was a childhood friend, which I would repair his studio gear for free and he hated tube amps and generously gave this to show his gratitude. Weird to think I've owned this for almost 34 years!
