Hi Guys,
I have another project in the works. Bought this Warmoth 'VIP' body on a whim and got a warmoth neck to match. Since the body is routed for a floyd i have to get one (GotohGE1996T) and figured i'd get locking tuners for the neck. Any suggestions on a decent set of locking tuners that won't break the bank?
Also- i remember last year there was a thread (maybe old forum?) about a set of Alnico V pickups on Amazon for about $20 that got great reviews. Anyone remember those? Or any other suggestions for cheap higher output pickups? Trying not to spend a TON of money on this project.

I have sets of Hipshot, Gotoh, Planet Waves, and Guyker locking tuners, along with some unbranded that came on my Harley Benton Fusion guitars. The Guykers cost me the least, and they're good, but I like the Gotohs the best. Hipshots are great, but cost a little bit more.
As for pickups, I don't remember any $20 pickups, but I used the below pickups in my Firefly LP and like them.

have a look at the Musiclily Pro series on Amazon or direct at their website.
I have 3 sets of their tuners and they are very good for a budget line.
I dont know what they have in locking though.
they have a lower end series that may be ok but I have not tried them.
Guitarmadness on ebay has some good PAF types, or I would recommend the Giovanni / Artec GV series.

May be more than you want to spend but I use Grover 406 Mini Locking Tuners in fact I just bought a set for my PRS SE Standard 24. They are 18:1 and work great I have them in my SX Strat and Tele, Agile PS900, PRS SE Singlecut and you can find them from $50 to $55 on Reverb or $58.99 on all the big internet stores. I'm exploring pups right now myself. I've always used SD pups for upgrades but would like to find something good for less and I just bought a set from a member here that another member wound to try in my Wolf 335 style guitar so if you find something good let me know and I'll be watching this thread as well good luck.

Doesn't look like that neck he got has a locking nut.
While its possible to convert, it's a lot easier to just use locking tuners.
Tuning stability won't be exactly the same, but I've never been a fan of the locking nut anyway.

I don't actually think that will work if it's anything other than very light trem work. You would wear down the nut. Have to do some searching on if this is viable. It's not hard to install a locking nut, you have to measure and pick the correct one.

Guitarfetish has these: https://www.guitarfetish.com/Sperzel-St ... _1173.html
I have them on most of my guitars that have locking tuners. They also come in silver and gold.
I don't know what your limit is for not breaking the bank, but my fav lockers are planet waves auto trims at around $60.

they should have same screw holes as callisto and Al, and 20:1 ratio...so they say.

I have j used EZLoks too. They work well, but changing strings requires tools. Which is why I like Planet Waves auto-trims so much, no tools to install OR remove strings!
