AL 3010se look back review

This was my first AL a GC special. Probably paid a bit over what I 'should' have but I still like it. Rootbeer burst which is why I paid the price, 10.5 pounds roughly. 2 faults really binding imperfection where the neck and upper bout meet just a small gap but it's there. The main fault was the 3 way switch tip was broken off making switching awkward without replacing the switch again no biggie but work. It also needed a good setup action too high pups were way off optimum. Pups were ok but best for low to medium gain stuff. It has a good thick chunky sound with both pups on and would be perfect for classic rock swamp rock rhythm and blues work. The side story on this is it was spotted at a Michigan GC , discussed in the forum and I missed it because I hesitated. @ weeks later it pops up by tobijohn in a GC there. He said something abut going to check it out over the weekend if it was there. So bought it that day after calling them to save it from TJ's cathouse and lefty guitar museum. Still haven't replaced the switch as I prefer the middle position for it and it also sold me on ebony boards and abalone.

I don't remember that at all but I did end up with a root beer AL-2500 so I was able to cross that finish off my list. I still need a true blue flame AL (not that greenish blend)...

Actually the only reason I remember it was it was the first Agile as well as AL. along with missing out on the first sale to see it pop up was a sign it was meant for me. I have a weakness for earthtones the way some love CSB or purple.

I'd kind of forgotten what a great finish that is until you posted and I dusted mine off...

It may have been less on the 3XXXes, but gold is a funny thing. As a matter of fact, when real gold is sliced thinly (so thin that it can transmit light), it looks green, I'm told. Anyways, under certain types of light, at a certain angle, my 3010 does exhibit a bit of green.

Sorry to hijack the thread but I wonder if that has to do with the year/source of the AS and AL-3xxx GTs? I've got one of the former and two of the latter and upon closer inspection, the older AL-3xxx does appear to have a little green in it. I should drag the R7 out from under the bed and stand it up against the lot...

My first Agile was a 3010 Rootbeer Flame. Got it after reading reviews of them on here after first visiting. Was playing it tonight. One of my favorites.
