That's what I noticed too.
I know that there's folks who dig pine Teles, but is pine desirable on a Strat?
Is there a historical precedence for a Strat with a pine body?
From what I understand Leo used whatever was cost effective and available, which was how swamp ash became used for some of the early instruments.

Regardless, if the Fiesta Red model was priced at $275 I'd have already succumbed. The fact is, great deal though it is, I just don't need another sunburst Strat.

Surprising. My older CV 50s Strat has an alder body. I guess they change the spec from year to year all the time, but I don't pay enough attention. I'd bet it does sound different. While I like my pine Teles, I've never played a pine Strat. Someone should buy that and give us all a comparison :D It's too right-handed for me.

Gearlist: A few LP's, a Strat, a Tele and a few acoustics.

Looks like a lot of items on their labor day sale for 25% off or more. Did the supply chain train just get thrown in reverse?

Some notable deals on initial review

Rumble 40 bass amp for $149 ( originally $249 )

CV Jazz Bass for $249

Lots of nice guitars for 25% off too which is not too shabby if you need something.

I have that CV strat, it balances well / no neck dive.
That is a big issue with me.

That is a great deal. I paid a little over that for a mint used one in Dec. last year.
Well almost mint, one of the pots was bad, but a new one was included.

i dont know about tone wood differences.
It sounds good to me.

Any tone differences would probably be negligible IMO. And a slight tweak of the tone knobs on your amp would probably get them to sound identical.

I'd say that's a pretty damn good deal. A few years back I paid more for one from soneone on the forum who added 57/62. The guitar is currently in Dubai.

Why can't they make that Fiesta red in Lefty???

Glad this sale wasn't a couple weeks sooner. Might have had trouble getting what I did for my CV70s I just sold

Finally gave in since Proaudiostar.com has several of the different Classic Vibe options on sale.

Went with a Squier Classic Vibe '70s Stratocaster in Natural finish. Should make a nice mod platform.
