I've been getting these emails from something called "Bass Musician Magazine" for a while, which I've mostly been ignoring because I'm pretty much done with guitar magazines, and this thing looks... really fake and awful. Like something that's been slapped together by people who barely know what they're talking about, or who their target audience is.

Anyway, I usually don't open their emails (and wonder why I haven't unsubscribed already), but today I got one that said "Just ask Momo" in the title, so of course, I had to check it out just out of curiosity.

Apparently "Momo" is their resident bass "guru", who looks about 65, and dresses like a 7 year old.

And this guy's voice, man... It's just... unsettling. Mostly due to mic technique. When I was on the page, there was a section below the player where you could submit a question, and I was tempted to ask: "Hey guy, can we get a little more gain and compression on that mic?? I can't hear enough of your saliva!" :lol:

I swear, I couldn't make it through the whole video... It just wigged me out... You'll thank me for exposing you to this. :D

9 seconds and out. His voice came on, and my 7 year old daughter immediately looked at me in a concerned way. I agree with EVERYTHING the OP said. Ridiculous. He's a senior citizen with a sideways baseball cap and something like Bane effects on his voice. It's out there with Azrael, but for different reasons. Has anyone posted Azrael to "Christen" the new board yet? LOL

I think the name is a coincidence. I don't think this has anything to do with MOMO Board.

I thought I was watching a SNL skit the outfit was bad enough but when he open his mouth here was that really weird voice and finally the subject of all the things that could be talked about concerning bass playing he chose that huge pick. WTF?????
Those cats have lost their collective minds and have no sense of reality what a bunch of douche bags.

that guy actually has a couple signature bass models made by Music Man. I went to his youtube page and his playing isn't too bad, funky grooves. Not say he still isn't a tool, but there's a reason this guy actually has that whole magazine crap lol.
