Epiphone Sheraton w/ Mini Hums

So it seems that Epiphone quietly started selling the Sheraton model with mini hums and Frequensator tailpiece in 2023. Not much stock available and certainly has not reached Thailand yet. I have been holding off on the Riviera (same mini hums and tailpiece) for a variety of reasons, but mainly because I was not crazy about the 2 color options. The Sheraton seems to have Push/Pull Pots for coil splitting (nice addition) and better tuners along with a premium look. I played a Sheraton Pro II awhile back and liked it but again color choices uninspiring...but now I see this :

When / If this shows up in Thailand...I will finally jump (yeah I know you've all heard that before but you know the house and car always seem to need something).

Correction: The Sheraton Pro II has the coil tapping, this model does not.

I am with you on the Sheratons with the full-sized humbuckers (Pro-buckers?). I never found one that 'sang' acoustically (like my Casino, Wilshire and Epi LP Classic Custom do). Also, I found them electrically on the dark side of tone. Last, I didn't like the flat feel of the back side of the neck. Almost like they ruined a really good 'V' neck.

Awesome guitar and probably he only Epi semi I would consider at this point. I do like the Emily Wolfe model a lot, especially the white one they have produced.

I only wish that hardware were brushed nickel instead of gold. I'm hoping once I see one in person, the natural finish will mute the bling of the gold.

Get the benefit of humbucker fullness but still seem to retain more "single coil" like highs and sharpness. When he hits the amp only (no pedals) starting @ 12:06 you can get a real sense of the minis...they sound fabulous !

My favorite is the LP Deluxe, but at $2800 bucks that ain't gonna happen.

That's a very pretty guitar right there. I haven't spent a ton of time with a semi hollow with mini humbuckers, but @Bubba Zanetti has a cool on that is very warm but still has a really nice articulation to it.

I've found that they're warm like a hum bucker should be, nice and full. A little less output except maybe compared to underfund of vintage alnico hums. The key is just a but sharper, maybe less muddy. With higher gain I find them to have clearer note clarity. I also find they play well if you're in a band situation with someone with a Strat or tele, where they won't blow them out of the water as much / don't need an EQ pedal to lose some of the LP'ness compared to a full HB.

I just bought one from Sweetwater! I have had it for a couple of weeks. Love it. The build quality, and fretwork is very good, and I love the neck. The Probucker mini humbuckers sound great IMO. They have the humbucker sound, but with more bite and articulation. I will do a full review here soon

Oh.....no, there is no coil tapping or whatever on these. The pickups are old school, two lead with the braided ground and push-back lead.....Which is just fine with me.

Yeah, I do like that tone. I may have to go play one of these at Sam Ash or Guitar Center so I can hear in person.

I have mini's in a thinline strat body and they work well there, too.

I've read of the term "single coil-like focus" due to the actual size of the magnetic field, relative to full humbucker size.
