It is a very nice guitar, my #1. It was made in 1991, ebony fret board, medium skinny neck, the pickups are stock. Gibson calls them '59 Les Paul Reissue. They are spectacular PAF style. I like them much better than most Specials which have 490's.
Wow. I would like to hear that amp. How loud is it? Is it good for overdriven tones?Kerry Brown wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2020 10:09 am I've mostly been playing acoustic stuff. Yesterday I decided to play electric. This is my Gibson three knob special. I played it through an old military PA amp converted for guitar through a Blackstar 1x12 cab with an Emminence P50E speaker.

It is driven by two 6AQ5 tubes with a couple of 12AX7 and a couple of 6X4. All the tubes are original 1955. It only had a couple of hours on the Hobb meter when I got it. It’s around 12 to 15 watts. I’ve played in jams with bass, drums, and another guitar no problem. Very clean until it is very loud when it gets a very creamy breakup. It’s a great blues amp.Gergo wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2020 4:55 pmWow. I would like to hear that amp. How loud is it? Iirc there was motorama show car named Buick Y job. That name pops into my head when I see this guitar
Haha not familiar with it but when I first got it I instantly thought of Elroy from the Jetsons. One of my favorites in the stable and yet another classic GC steal.
